Enjoy The View

Take it all in, my memory is burning up

Take it all in, my memory is burning up

I can’t see when my heart beats
But if I wait too long there’ll be nothing to see
So I’ll close my eyes while you lay me to sleep
Run your fingers through my existence
Take it all in, my memory is burning up

Listen closely as we share secrets only our bodies can tell
Our discoveries aren’t for show
You could dim the lights but we can’t hide this
Dynamic symmetry, connecting every nerve
Feel me down in the depths of where you want me most
We’re caught in 360 degrees, feeling our way around
As long as we’ve had life we’ve been searching

Eyes opened, hearts have spoken
There’s nothing to be ashamed of
Hope you enjoy the view

I Like Your Silence

The space between your words speaks when words can't...

The space between your words speaks when words can’t…

I like your silence
And the volume at which it speaks
Its honesty emits a truth which words sometimes forget
The sound of silence can be deafening for some
Pregnant pauses become overdue until something must be said

You could be cruel
You could be kind
You could also be mistaken

You pick your pauses so carefully that what follows must be heard
Flooding our ears with unthoughtful words is on par with emotional pollution
Have a moment of silence
Breathe & stop
Wait & see
Choose your battles carefully

Your tongue rests with angels in spite of all the hell it could awaken
I may not always understand your silence, but I know where it comes from
Birthed in a place of patience
Raised with peace of mind
Learning to live with empathy, because somethings need not be said
The space between your words speaks when words can’t

For every speaker, there is a listener
For every word, one must be heard

I like your silence
I can still hear what you mean
I like your silence
When I can understand your heart

Grasp

I can't separate you from me.

I can’t separate you from me.

Your grasp extends beyond the way you touch me.
I feel no pressure coming from your way.
Take me without touching me.
Embracing what’s already yours like a dance we both know the moves to.
Make me feel right at home.
I hope you feel just what I mean.
Tomorrow’s never coming to take you away.

Closer than our skin knows.
So warm below the surface.
Your heat lingers like visible vapors.
Throws off my equilibrium, even though your beauty never gets in the way.
I don’t understand how you keep on finding ways to shine your light.
When words don’t come out right, your embrace sets it right.
Set free in your grasp like a compass with a clear destination.

Like raindrops falling from above, I never know where you’ll land.
But when you do, it covers me gently all the same.
You spread peace all over me.
Drenched in a warmth that can’t be calculated.
The temperature surrounding us can’t be measured by degrees.
I can’t separate you from me.
You’re still with me, even when you leave.
Your grasp extends beyond your touch.

Intertwine

Following curves & crossing lines...

Following curves & crossing lines…

She intertwines her fingers with mine.
Her body molds itself to mine.
Following curves & crossing lines in ways that make us shudder & sigh.
Such warmth & such honesty I’ve rarely felt, how could I not crave for more?
There are no questions, this simply is what it is.
We’re holding on to each other & something more, something deeper than words could ever hope to express.
Our hopes & fears find common sanctuary, the war is over for as long as we rest.
My strength bends to her vulnerability.
Her calm mends my broken heart.
Piece by piece we come together & over time we rebuild one another from the inside out.
She intertwines her dreams with mine.
My heart molds itself to hers.
Following curves & crossing lines in ways that make us shudder & sigh.

Blank

Blank pages fill my head.
Empty lines.
Faded words.
Not a single thought feels unique enough to follow.
Rare enough to seek out.
Elusive sparks go out of their way to miss me.
I can’t express what I don’t know.
And I don’t know what to do with myself in times like these.
I wish I had someone to speak to, but it’s too late.
Do I let it go & feign being carefree?
Or do I push on & try to correct this aimless night?

Looking at nothing makes my eyes burn.
So I’m standing on my balcony, staring out into the crackling sky.
It’s 3:23 & I don’t know why I feel this way.
When I can’t think, I describe.
It troubles me, this silence that usually soothes my soul.
All it does is make me restless.
I just need something.
Something to hold.
Something sure.
Something.
