Falling in and out of sleep during a long ride home I thought
I heard someone crying although I was the only person on the bus at the time.
Somehow those tears made their way into my dream, flooding my head with low ambient sounds.
I still don’t know if I really heard someone crying or not, and I can only imagine why.

This actually started off as a haiku,
but I wanted to flesh out the images that filled my head, so I elaborated somewhat.

"Such emotion falls

As water waits to cry out loud

Pure audible tears"
– Mr. GQ

Such emotion falls
As water waits to cry out loud
Pure audible tears – Giving way to many fears that were denied their leave
For far too long her eyes have been dry
Her smile wide and her heart glad
But tonight her tears have broken free at long last
Like criminals they flee from her eyes
Down trickles tear number one
Streaking downwards with force descends more tears
Swarming and swelling – They won’t go back, they can only go down
As the waterworks are about to drown her, they stop all at once
In that same instant a sound rises, peaking her attention
Slowly, but clearly she hears it – Her cries echoing into the calm night
"It’s alright, it’s alright." She chants beneath her breath
Her tears are air dried by the night’s soothing breeze
Calming – Reassuring – Soft and cool
"It’s alright, it’s alright."
