Snowfall

Is your window still open?
Can you see it?
It must have been snowing while we were sleeping.
Where are you going with that smile upon your face?
Leaving me to wander the streets & slide downhill, enjoy the magic while it’s still falling fresh.
I can’t believe how old you seem.
Were you like this at age six?
Filled with wonder just carefree.
Ignore the cold now cus I’ve got you.
Wrapped in my arms while we literally try to catch our breaths.

Oh it’s coming down to this.
This is a slippery slope.
This could be something special.
Let’s enjoy the blessings that are making their way down, covering every blemish & hole in the ground.
Spread like makeup, building like volume, all this snow knows exactly where to go.
All over.
We’re all over it & in return we’re covered in it.
Blanketed in white, we’re both smiling & having the time of our lives.
