My Word & You

Let Me Wrap My Words Around You

Let Me Wrap My Words Around You

Why do you run & hide?
Say what you feel.

When you give it up, you lose it all.

So what’s a man to do?
I know it’s late & I should be sleeping, but I’ve got nobody to keep me warm.
Got the place to myself & no one to entertain.
Got time on my hands, but no one to hold it for.
Days pass by like a Summer breeze, fast & furious.

Blink & it’s gone.

Won’t let you fall hard on your own.
I’ll be falling too, so that I can catch up to you & break your fall.
I won’t want for anything once I have you to hold.
One day I’ll keep my word & you in the same breath.

    • Now you’re gonna make me blush. Thanks Lee. You know me, I’m just trying to turn these words into reality.

My new neighbors are moving in! They have a dog, a kid & they’re musicians. If I knew they were coming I would have made a jello mold. Haha, that’s so corny. I’m gonna go say hi.

  3. “Got time on my hands, but no one to hold it for.” – my favorite line. I visualize everything and this brought it all together for me, that feeling you’re trying to tell her and show her.
    loved it.

  4. Powerful words, my friend. It’s hard for me to say what’s on my mind because so many people in my life have shut me down in mid-sentence–sometimes mid-word. I’m getting over that and learning to trust that the man I’m with will never do that.

    • Lorna, I know how that feels. Gets to the point where you don’t even see the point in talking when they do allow you to. Its like talking with a mussel on. Patience & understanding are key to any conversation, even the silent ones that are spoken through glances & stolen embraces.
