Anchiale

Next to you, the Sun couldn't be more ordinary.

Next to you, the Sun couldn’t be more ordinary.

Make me feel again, your words are warmth beneath my skin.
I’d give you love like water; overflow.
Drunk on you, I want without warning.
The touch of your skin ignites a fire.
Wet like rain, hot like heat.

You’re too bright to dance with the stars at the end of days.
Next to you, the Sun couldn’t be more ordinary.
It’s your exposure I crave.
Always beaming with your heart against my chest.

Come on, shine your smile again.
Your soothing light is endless when in the comfort of us.
I can tell by the way that you stare.
You’ve got a feeling that you can’t contain.
The unexpected can be beautiful.

We start to feel, we want to run.
Only stopping to see which way the wind blows.
It’s the simple things that keep us together.
We’ll dream another dream with your lips against mine.

If it gets too complicated, I’ll love you more.

Beckoned

I understood my place & purpose within her stillness.

I understood my place & purpose within her stillness.

She said, “I just want to keep you, a little longer.”
She took my hand & I could not refuse her.
All I knew was that I was wanted, no needed in a new light.
With an urgency & an honesty I had never been shown before, I felt destined to stay.
Suddenly all my losses didn’t stand a chance at all.
Empathy emptied me into her until a calm had filled her soul.
Our touch could not end.

In that very moment I had become the cure & the cause for her way with words.
I knew exactly what she meant, and she knew exactly where I stood, with her by my side.
I understood my place & purpose within her stillness.
We became all that we could be, while we could be.

Grasp

I can't separate you from me.

I can’t separate you from me.

Your grasp extends beyond the way you touch me.
I feel no pressure coming from your way.
Take me without touching me.
Embracing what’s already yours like a dance we both know the moves to.
Make me feel right at home.
I hope you feel just what I mean.
Tomorrow’s never coming to take you away.

Closer than our skin knows.
So warm below the surface.
Your heat lingers like visible vapors.
Throws off my equilibrium, even though your beauty never gets in the way.
I don’t understand how you keep on finding ways to shine your light.
When words don’t come out right, your embrace sets it right.
Set free in your grasp like a compass with a clear destination.

Like raindrops falling from above, I never know where you’ll land.
But when you do, it covers me gently all the same.
You spread peace all over me.
Drenched in a warmth that can’t be calculated.
The temperature surrounding us can’t be measured by degrees.
I can’t separate you from me.
You’re still with me, even when you leave.
Your grasp extends beyond your touch.
